Day 4
Today's Scripture:
Matthew 6:12-15
Key Verse:
Matthew 6:12
"And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors."
The Point:
Forgiveness is the choice to release a debt. It is not a feeling. It is a decision.
Matthew 6:14-15 "For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your Heavenly Father will also forgive you: But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses."
Confess:
Confess and forsake any known sin.
Proverbs 28:13 "He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy."
Probing Questions:
- What actions do you need to take to put out of your life the sins God has revealed to you?
- Is there anyone to whom you need to apologize? (Seek out anyone God brings to mind.)
- Is there anyone whom you need to forgive?
Pray right now and release every debt you are holding against another.
"Lord, today I choose to forgive / release (name your offenders) for hurting me."
Thank Him now for cleansing. 1 John 1:9
Praise:
Praise God for His forgiveness.
Psalm 103:12 "As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us."
Request:
- Ask God to convict you of specific ways you sin and then confess those sins to the Lord.
- Ask God for a fresh filling of His spirit. Thank Him for filling you now.
- Ask God to develop the discipline of purity of mind in your life.
- Ask God to bring to your attention any impure things in your entertainment.
